Robotic Palletizing and Unitizing
Robots excel (over dedicated palletizers) in systems that have multiple infeeds (sku) and multiple outfeeds. In addition they are in their best element when the infeed and outfeed configurations change on a frequent basis. In other words they are great at flexible automation.
The design of the palletizing cell by maximizing the utilization of the robots and the proper conveyor system if needed is critical to having a project with the optimal payback. MESH has delivered many systems using single or multiple robot cells and we know the cost factors involved.
Robotic Bag Palletizing
Palletizing bags brings with it additional factors compared to boxes or cases or other rigid products. Usually bag conditioning (flatteners, air removal features and other) needs to be considered in addition to the robot end of arm tool. Stack pattern is also very critical to creating a unit load that is dimensionally within tolerance and stays that way. MESH has experience and can sort these issues out during the proposal phase of the project.
Gantries are sometimes the best solution when stacking awkward, long products or when great distances need to be moved. MESH has a line of pre-engineered gantry products that take the guesswork out of their capabilities. Speeds as high as 3 m/min and 2.5 m/s2 can be achieved even on large and heavy raw materials.
Servo motion control is the main driver in gantry systems and MESH is an expert in Rockwell and Siemens servo systems. Additionally, we have developed HMI screens that are intuitive and flexible.
Our ability to customize the infeed system using specially designed conveyor and the gantry parameters (height, width, and length) puts MESH in a different league than your average palletizer provider.
