Open Top Case Palletizing

Mesh Automation > Case Studies > Open Top Case Palletizing
Customer Requirement

Our customer required an automated system that could receive open top cases from the packing line, palletize cases onto a waiting pallet and then remove the full pallet via automated guided vehicle to a stretch wrapping area.

Solving the Problem

MESH supplied two identical robotic cells. There were three different pallet sizes and patterns.

MESH designed and built the case infeed and pick up stations to coordinate with the MESH purpose-built end-of-arm tool for a cost-effective and highly reliable solution. An automated guided vehicle delivered both the empty and full pallets to the cells.

The end-of-arm tool scooped up and clamped the one or multiple cases – up to a complete a row of cases – with each trip.

MESH supplied two Yaskawa PL190 4-axis palletizing robots as they provided the right balance of speed, payload, and ease of use.
