Customer Requirement
Our customer is a manufacturer of consumer cleaning and lubricating materials. They operate several blending and filling lines that create the materials, fill consumer and industrial containers, and pack the containers into shipping cartons. These cartons are delivered to the MESH robotic palletizing system to be picked and stacked onto the waiting pallet in preparation for shipment to the distribution centers.
Machine Performance
MESH’s solution included the robot, pallet automation, and controls. This allowed the customer to stay ahead of the required rate of throughput and handle the variety of case sizes from the multiple infeed lanes.
All pallet pattern and part requirements are accessible on the system control operator interface HMI, allowing easy changeovers using MESH’s Pallet X pallet building software.
The robot is mounted to a steel baseplate and riser assembly, with the infeed conveyor and pallet build locations nearby. The cases are metered into the cell via customer-supplied case conveyor to the MESH-built pick-up stations. The robot picks one or more cases per trip. Once a pallet is complete, the conveyor system sends the finished pallet out of the cell to the MESH-supplied pallet wrapper. MESH also provided the pallet dispenser, conveyor, and control system.
